Introduction

At Pivot, operated by Healthspan Culture FZCO, our mission is to improve nutritional wellness through personalized insights and meal-planning tools. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share information when you use the Pivot app and website, including data provided through supported third-party services such as WHOOP and Apple Health.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account and profile information: When you create a Pivot account, we may collect your name, email address, age or date of birth, sex or gender, height, weight, goals, dietary preferences, cuisine preferences, food restrictions and other information you choose to provide.

b) Connected health and wearable data: With your authorization, Pivot may receive or process information from your selected supported source — WHOOP or Apple Health. Depending on the source and your permissions, this may include activity and workout data, active and resting energy, steps, sleep, heart rate, resting heart rate, HRV, recovery-related data, body measurements and other health or fitness information.

c) Apple Health data sources: Apple Health data may originate from Apple Watch, iPhone or compatible third-party apps and devices. Pivot can only access data types you authorize and that are available in Apple Health. Compatible Garmin or Oura data may be present through Apple Health, but Pivot does not connect directly to Garmin or Oura.

d) Nutrition and app-use information: We collect meals, food images, food diary entries, meal-plan choices, generated recommendations, wellness scores, feature interactions, settings and preferences needed to provide and improve Pivot.

e) Technical information: We may collect information such as device type, operating system, app version, diagnostic information, crash data and general usage analytics.

2. How Apple Health Access Works

Apple Health access is available on iPhone and requires your permission for specific data types. You can review or change these permissions in Apple Health or your iPhone settings. Revoking a permission may limit Pivot’s ability to calculate personalized calorie and macro targets. Pivot does not write data to Apple Health unless the app explicitly requests that permission and explains the purpose.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to create and manage your account; connect your selected data source; calculate personalized calorie and macro targets; generate meal plans, grocery lists, wellness scores and AI guidance; track your nutrition and progress; provide customer support; maintain security; troubleshoot synchronization or data-quality issues; communicate important service updates; and improve app performance and user experience.

4. Advertising and Marketing Use

Pivot does not use Apple Health data for advertising targeting, marketing-related data mining or the creation of advertising profiles. We do not sell Apple Health or WHOOP health data. Contact information may be used for service communications and, where permitted, optional marketing messages that you can unsubscribe from.

5. Sharing Information

We may share limited information with service providers that support app hosting, analytics, customer support, AI processing, subscription management, security or other operational functions. These providers may process information only for the services they provide to Pivot and are subject to contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, Pivot or others.

6. Third-Party Sources and Accuracy

Pivot does not control the accuracy, completeness, timing or availability of data supplied by WHOOP, Apple Health, Apple Watch, connected apps or other third-party devices and services. Delayed, incomplete or inaccurate source data may affect Pivot’s calculations and recommendations.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. You may request access, correction or deletion of your personal information by contacting support@thepivotapp.ai. Some information may be retained where legally required or where necessary for security, fraud prevention or legitimate business records.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure or alteration. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

9. Your Choices

You may update your profile, change supported connection permissions, disconnect WHOOP or Apple Health, opt out of marketing communications and request access to or deletion of your personal information. Disconnecting a source or removing permission may prevent Pivot from generating personalized nutrition targets.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted in the app or on the website. The effective date should be updated whenever the policy changes.
